Jimmy Choo has come out with a new line of sneakers that embody all the class of the stiletto. These puppies will set you back a cool $565.00 for the Miami style (low sneaker) and $495.00 for the Tokyo style (High tops).
I'll take the black high tops in a size 9, please.
Elizabeth Gilbert's Eat. Pray. Love. is a fantastic memoir chronicling her year-long soul searching journey through Italy, India and Indonesia.
I recently saw the trailer for the upcoming movie adaptation of this best seller (in theaters August 13th), and I'm proud to report that it looks just as promising - complete with an all-star cast including Julia Roberts, Javier Bardem and James Franco, to name a few.
Check it out for yourself along with some gorgeous stills from the film (sorry guys, this is a chick's only recommendation).
Brooklyn’s School of Seven Bells (consisting of members Benjamin Curtis of Secret Machines, and identical twins Alejandra and Claudia Deheza, formerly of On! Air! Library!) recently announced the 2010 release of their second album Disconnect from Desire, which follows 2009’s Alpinisms. Set to release on July 13, little has surfaced regarding the content of their new album, except for the track list below.
1 Windstorm
2 Heart Is Strange
3 Dust Devil
4 I L U
5 Babelonia
6 Joviann
7 Cammarilla
8 Dial
9 Bye Bye Bye
10 The Wait
Here’s a flash back at one of my favorite songs called “Half Asleep” from their debut album last year.
Haven't gotten a chance to give the new Crystal Castles album (with the same title) the proper listening it deserves, but I thought I'd share that it is now available for download on itunes.
Though I'm sure it's been said more times than you'd like to hear, it's worth repeating - Coachella 2010 was incredible.
The sold out festival (rumored to have more than 70,000 in attendance), was nothing short of a magical joyfest for music lovers of all genres. I actually got to see six of my top ten desired song performances and experienced my first ever camping adventure, complete with two showers by water bottle.
Everything from the music, the people, the food (fresh farmer's market produce, organic coffee huts and a Ruth Chris Steak House booth), to the facilities, and even the crazy characters roaming around the desert, absolutely exceeded my expectations.
For those of you who have asked, my favorite performances were: the XX (during which the Coachella main stage actually caught on fire - no joke, check out the pic below), Thom Yorke, Grizzly Bear, Miike Snow, MGMT, Hot Chip, Phoenix, Major Lazer, The Avett Brothers, Jay Z, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Yeasayer and Florence and the Machine.
Aside form the music, Coachella is almost equally defined by the crazy characters and costumes seen roaming about at any given time. Below are two videos of some of my favorite Coachella characters. I actually got to dance with this first guy in the Elmo costume, and the second guy who I found on the Coachella Web site, is just a hilarious drunk.
Now for the real treat - for those of you who missed music's most incredible weekend, the Coachella fairy has come to bestow three gifts to help you get a taste of the glory.
Dj's John Beaver and Thomas Radman have created two mixed CD's featuring artists from this year's festival, and as a bonus, they've also compiled a 10 year anniversary mix - all available for FREE download.
The duo has been creating the Coachella Mixes since 2004 purely in the spirit of the festival, starting as an idea to make something for Coachella fans to listen to on the long ride home.
The mixes quickly turned into an annual tradition and include songs from artists playing at the current Coachella blended in the style of a dance DJ mix. The end result is an Indie Rock/ Pop/ Dance music mash up of all things Coachella.
Enjoy!

I have to say that my first Coachella experience was a great success. I had an incredible weekend filled with good people, good food, and great music. Who could ask for more?
Here are a few of my favorite performances from the weekend...
If you didn't get your hands on tickets to Conan's sold out nation-wide summer comedy tour (which began yesterday and concludes in Atlanta on June 14th), never fear!
The red-headed king of comedy has announced his return to late-night television on cable's comedy channel, TBS. The show will air in November and play at 11 p.m. four nights a week (Monday through Thursday), sliding George Lopez's show to midnight.
An avid Coco-lover myself, I'm still on the hunt for tickets to his show in Atlanta. If you're selling any, please let me know!
Gayngs, the new megaband composed of P.O.S., Solid Gold, Megafaun, The Rosebuds, Lookbook, and Bon Iver's Justin Vernon, has released it's first track off their new CD Relayted. "The Gaudy Side Of Town" (inspired by 10cc's "I'm Not In Love") is a smooth and intoxicating track that is sure to put you at ease after a long, hard day.
I can't wait to hear the rest of the album which is due out April 20th.
With only 10 days left before the most highly anticipated event of my 2010, I thought it was only appropriate to share my wishlist of the top 10 songs I will go absolutely bonkers over if played at Coachella (in ascending order of my level of bonker-ness).
If you've seen the trailer for Tron Legacy you know that:
A) It Comes out December 17th 2010.
and
B) It's going to be sick.
What you may not know? Daft punk is responsible for the soundtrack. The French duo has recorded some 20 plus tracks for the sequel to the 1982 sci-fi film and are rumored to make an appearance in the movie.
She's only 20 years old, but Canadian pop singer Béatrice Martin (a.k.a Coeur de Pirate) is already making waves with hit songs like "Comme Des Enfants".
As one of my recent favorites, I find myself torn between the remix and the original. Decide for yourself here:
That about sums up MGMT's new video for "Flash Delirium" off their upcoming album Celebration.
Like something out of a Tarantino film, this nonsensical video debuted yesterday on MGMT's official Web site, where you can also stream the new album in it's entirety.
I dig the quirkiness and originality of the video and can't wait to see these guys rock out at Coachella in only 17 days!
That's right, Universal Studios Orlando has finally announced that the grand opening of the new Wizarding World of Harry Potter will be on June 18, 2010.
I don't know about you guys, but I'm pretty stoked to see this baby once and for all. I'm predicting even longer, more ridiculous lines with screaming babies and sweaty European tourists.
